"In the pines, in the pines,
where the sun never shines,
I shivered the whole night through."

Despite all the logging forest still dominate Dark Falls. Wander deep enough into them, you will find yourself transported to an earlier, more primal, when humans were but tolerated guests and not the masters of Creation. The woods are not friendly, people disappear there all the time. Still, that does little to keep people from seeking reported ancient Indian burial grounds and wildlife watching spots.

The forest supposedly got its name from earlier settlers because it was said "dark falls a little sooner here than anywhere else".
